About Us

Who We Are:

The Fairfax County Federation of Citizens Associations has served the residents of Fairfax County since 1940. Its purpose is to promote the interests of citizens' associations (homeowners, civic, and condominium unit owners) in Fairfax County and to further the common good and general welfare of all residents of Fairfax County. The Federation is organized and operates on a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian, and volunteer basis. Its member associations represent households and communities in every corner of Fairfax County and Federation meetings are open to all County residents.

How We Operate:

The Federation is comprised of seven leading Officers, seven District Council Representatives, ten Standing Committees, and a number of rotating Special Committees. Members also act in a variety of Federation Support positions and as appointees to numerous Fairfax County organizations. We hold monthly Member meetings and monthly Board meetings, and we frequently coordinate with Fairfax elected officials and other county organizations.

What We Do:

  • Evaluate and act on issues important to citizens' associations.

  • Advise member citizen associates on management issues.

  • Evaluate annual Public Schools and County-proposed budgets.

  • Actively participate in Fairfax County Government.

  • Maintain a strong relationship with the Board of Supervisors.

  • Work closely with Fairfax County staff.

  • Develop a well-researched State Legislative Issues Program.

  • Work with Fairfax County task forces, boards, and commissions.

  • Celebrate volunteerism and civic participation at our elegant Citizen of the Year Banquet.
